Welcome to the Chris Amon Files, the world of Chris Amon. It's hard to believe that eight years have come and gone since Chris went on his last journey. We miss him. We wish he was still here to share with us all the things that were uniquely his, like his special sense of humour. The world is a lesser place without him. The world is a better place because of him. In his 25 short years among us, Chris touched many hearts. Everyone who knew him recognized a soul who was at once a free spirit and yet grounded by the values of caring and loving kindness. He was known variously as creative, artistic, intelligent, kind, generous and above all by an uparalleled sense of humour. He has been described as a young man with an old soul, sometimes seen as a smiling Buddha, wise beyond his years, always known as a friend.

This site is an attempt to share something of the memory of Chris Amon. It is not a "memorial site" in the sense of so many such ventures, which often verge on the maudlin and the glum. This is meant to be a celebration of a life that was creative and vital and burned out too soon, but burned bright nonetheless. Chris' sudden and early departure was tragic, but he would be the first to remind us that to dwell on that tragedy is the last thing he would want. Chris left a legacy of joy and art and music and humour and genuine caring. He would be the first to ask, "Why don't we celebrate?"
